Church of God 7th day in Marion is having a free clothes giveaway every Thursday of December.
I myself went to get clothes for the pregnant teen mothers, and their children that we will be fostering. All the clothes were clean and of great brands such as, The Children's Place, Gymboree, Justice, Gap, Tommy Hilfiger. All of the clothes come from a consignment store in the CR, surrounding areas. There were also baby blankets, bottles, high chairs, toys! What a blessing and an unexpected find!

Chickens Oh Yummy
Last night Bryan and I ate our first homegrown chicken. Correction, it was a two year old rooster, and he was absolutely delicious! The dark meat was a beautiful color that I can only compare to chocolate, it was a bit too wild for my taste buds Bryan however devoured it! I on the other had loved the white meat which had a flavorful taste taste that I can only describe as "real" like the awakening of my taste buds, think of the Matrix when Neo realizes that all of his "life" was a lie. My taste buds feel they have been lied and tricked into believing store bought, commercially raised chicken, is the best tasting. We have opened our taste buds to a whole new way of life, from here on out we will only be eating our very own homegrown chicken.
My frugal thought for today is this. Cedar Rapids now allows you to have 6 hens in your backyard, get the hens use them for delicious eggs and then when they stop producing eggs take them to a friends farm and butcher them!

Couponing 101
There is no known grocery store that does double coupons in the Cedar Rapids Metro area. I have taken it upon myself to let my fingers do the hard work of finding the best coupons and the best coupon place. my lovely and surprising find is Target!
Here is how couponing works at Target and why it is the best place by far!
If you go to target.com you can find coupons, these are store coupons,
Then you keep an eye out for other coupons from the Gazette insert or wait for the Target coupon fliers that you get in the mail.
Target.com coupon. 1.00 off any Palmolive
Newspaper coupon. .75 off any Palmolive
I purchased the 1.94 size Palmolive
Total purchase price for Palmolive was .19
Not too shabby.
My last shopping trip to Target was this past weekend. I spent $160.00
That was with $60.00 in coupons
